Updating Your PianoDisc Unit

Once you have created a PianoDisc update disk, updating your PianoDisc control unit is easy. The following instructions apply to the PDS-128, PDS-128Plus and the PDS-228CFX. Unless you own a PDS-228CFX, you must use a low-density update disk. Owners of the PDS-228CFX can use either a high-density, or low-density disk. Just follow these simple steps to upgrade your PianoDisc control unit:

NOTE: Unless instructed by PianoDisc technical support, we DO NOT RECOMMEND "downgrading" your system to an older version of the PianoDisc Operating System.

  1. If it is not already off, turn your PianoDisc control unit OFF by pressing the [POWER] button on the front panel.
  2. Insert the update disk into the floppy drive.
  3. Press and hold the [PRODUCER] button. This button is labeled with a 'P'.
  4. While still holding the [PRODUCER] button, press the [POWER] button to turn the unit on.
  5. Continue holding the [PRODUCER] button until the update screen appears, prompting you to press [PLAY].
  6. Press [PLAY] to update your PianoDisc unit.
  7. When the update process is complete, you will be prompted to eject the update disk.

Your PianoDisc system is now up-to-date, utilizing the latest features and enhancements.
