How to play PianoVideo with iQ Connecting a video player to your PianoDisc iQ is easier than it sounds. Let's start with the video. Simply connect the video output of your video player directly to the video input of your display or TV. That's it! Next, we'll connect the audio. Make a stereo connection from the analog audio outputs of the video player to the “AUDIO IN” jack on your iQ. Then, connect the “AUDIO OUT” ports of your iQ to the system's speakers, or the TV's speakers (if you want the accompaniment audio to come through the TV). Unlike other PianoDisc control units, the iQ is designed to accept a variable volume input. By varying the volume output of your video player, the iQ intelligently adjusts the intensity of the piano performance to match the accompanying audio. Some video players do not have a variable volume output. In that case, we recommend connecting a simple mixer or attenuator between the video player and iQ. That will provide you with a variable volume control that can be used to adjust the intensity of the piano performance as well as the relative volume level of the accompaniment audio. Due to the wide range of output levels produced by video players, iQ must first be calibrated with the mid-point of the player you are using. To calibrate the iQ's level, begin playing a PianoDisc performance through your video player, and adjust the volume level to 50%. Select the “level” feature using the iQ's selection wheel, and press in on the wheel to select “level”. Now, push in on the wheel one more time to capture the midpoint level of your player. You're done! The iQ will now track volume changes, and automatically adjust the piano to match. iQ Connection With Optional Mixer
