Converting High Density Disks To Low Density
|
Recently, it has become increasingly difficult to find low-density (DSDD) floppy disks. While your PianoDisc system reads both high and low-density disks, it requires a low-density disk for software updates (unless you have a PDS-228CFX). The good news is that there is a quick and easy way to convert a high-density disk to low density. Just follow the instructions below:
|
- Orient the floppy disk so that the label side is facing up and the metal "slider" is facing down. Notice the small rectangular "hole" in the upper-left corner of the floppy disk. In the illustration to the right, the correct hole is circled in red.
- Use a single piece of sturdy tape (preferably opaque) to cover both sides of the above-mentioned hole. Be sure to stretch the tape tightly so that it does not sag.
- Format the disk in your PianoDisc system (or on your computer) as LOW DENSITY.

That's it! You now have a disk you can use for software updates.
